2021

2021

2021 was a year of contrasts - love, continued grief, heartbreak, goodbyes, new beginnings, a move, sickness, grand adventures, time outside, personal challenges, personal growth, time in hospital, isolation, time with family and friends both new and old  - despite it all and the lingering effects of Covid, I am ending the year feeling more grounded, happy and hopeful than I have felt in a long time - thanks for reading and I look forward to sharing more writing in 2022.

Cheers to a healthy & happy New Year to you all -

The Laughing Heart by Charles Bukowski

your life is your life
don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission.
be on the watch.
there are ways out.
there is light somewhere.
it may not be much light but
it beats the darkness.
be on the watch.
the gods will offer you chances.
know them.
take them.
you can’t beat death but
you can beat death in life, sometimes.
and the more often you learn to do it,
the more light there will be.
your life is your life.
know it while you have it.
